Flavors of Lake
Flavors of Lake is a show on Lake County Radio that is by women for women in Lake County. Its two hosts discuss local events and topics that are important to the community. And each week, a new recipe is shared by Sandra who owns a catering business.
Keeping in mind the recipes and events, two important features were added to their site. The first was a portfolio to showcase the recipes that are shared. When the “Goodie Bag” is selected, a portfolio shows a variety of pictures for the current recipes that have been posted. Each picture is a portal to the recipe itself. The other feature is a interactive calendar that is link to a Google Calendar that followers can subscribe to, so they can keep up to date on the local events.
This site offers a clean and comforting, yet contemporary look to it. From the rotating header featuring the hosts of the show and regular contributors to the “Goodie Bag” to a random sponsor ad display, everything has its place without being to overwhelming on a visitor.
